SPRING/SUMMER 2024 COLLECTION
The new INLYLAND collection united the two great passions of the brand’s founder, Inna Grytsyk—nature and art. The impetus for its creation was the picturesque French village of Giverny, where Claude Monet wrote his famous “Water Lilies.”
“I got to Giverny for the first time two years ago, and it captured my thoughts.” Even after returning to Ukraine, I still couldn’t forget this place, so I commissioned the artist Polina Moroz to create a print inspired by Monet’s water lily. However, we wanted to avoid direct quoting and associations, so the drawing turned out to be abstract and atmospheric—with a predominance of shades of blue, milky, and green.”
It was created in the best traditions of the impressionists—using only natural colours and broad strokes, no modern computer graphics or artificial intelligence.
Several more times, the designer returned to Monet’s garden. In that very place, a full-fledged picture of the collection was formed. The INLYLAND base is proven—a coat jacket, laconic shirts, straight-cut trousers, and a jacket without lapels, combined with printed silk items—corset tops, scarves in various sizes, and a pleated skirt made by hand in the brand’s atelier.
The amount of handwork is an exceptional value of the collection. For example, the white silk skirt is decorated with crocheted water lily leaves and fringe – which takes over three days to produce, two days to make the elements and another day to sew the decor. And for the mint silk skirt, lace was specially woven. It is impossible not to pay attention to the decoration of the top with handmade embroidery and fringe. It is essential that this story is not about seasonality but about timelessness and eternal values – quality and attention to the most minor details.
This season, INLYLAND’s main novelty is jewellery with which the brand worked for the first time. “It turned out to be an exciting journey, thanks to which it was possible to immortalise the beauty of the core of the water lily in metal. We developed pendants in several sizes and a brooch,” adds the designer. The jewellery is made of brass and covered with 24-carat gold plating.
Visual presentation of the collection is one of the most important stages. It was decided to present this very personal story – simultaneously melancholic and relaxed – in an exceptional place – a unique estate in Samchyky, in the Khmelnytskyi region. This is the only location in Ukraine where a unique Japanese room, painted with Edo or Samurai motifs, has been preserved. “I’m
happy that in this collection, we managed to tell a complete visual story that easily envelopes us and reminds us that our world is beautiful – filled with incredible nature, colours and talents.”
